Gankoyama is a unique place to stay. You can take part in various activities and learn about the Japanese forest here so it is a great experience for school kids. Many school and company groups visit Gankoyama throughtout the year.
Up to 100 people can visit for a day trip.
Up to 60 people can stay overnight at Gankoyama.
(There need to be at least 20 people in the group)
The sample tours we offer for school trips are listed below. If you are interested in participating in one of them please let us know when and how many people would like to come to Gankoyama. We also need to know how many days you would like to stay for. We can suggest other activities for your group that are not listed below, as well (e.g planting trees with a forest guide, nagashi somen, traditional way of making fire, etc). Pick ups and drop offs are NOT available for school and group trips.
Participants need to bring their own sleeping bags if they are staying at Gankoyama. (We have a few sleeping bags we can lend you but there are not enough for everyone in big groups)

Build a small tree house. Around 15 people build one tree house together. (Grades 4 - 6)

Learn about the renewable energy used at Gankoyama and various facts and information about Japanese forests and plants
